“Empowering Domestic Workers: Kerala’s Bold Push for Legal Protection and Growth”

Kerala Domestic Workers Forum – KDWF

The Kerala Domestic Workers Forum (KDWF), under the leadership of the Kerala Labor Movement, demanded the enactment of legislation to ensure the safety and security of workers in the domestic labor sector. The leadership meeting of the forum, held at the Workers’ Facilitation Center in Ernakulam, was inaugurated by Fr. Prasad Kattathipparambil, Secretary of the KCBC Labor Commission. Joseph Jude, Chairman of the Unorganized Workers’ Trade Union Alliance, presided over the meeting.

Babu Thannikkod, State President of the Kerala Labor Movement, delivered the keynote address, while General Secretary Jose Mathew Ookkan and Treasurer Dixon Manik also spoke.

The meeting endorsed action plans to expand and strengthen the activities of the Kerala Domestic Workers Forum.

The forum also elected Adv. Anjali Cyrus as the President and Shoba Antony as the General Secretary. In the state executive committee, Mrs. Shine Andrews was chosen as the Executive Member representing the Mavelikkara diocese. Mrs. Shine Andrews and Mrs. Kunjumol Raju represented the Mavelikkara diocese, along with KLM representatives, at the meeting.
