The National Leprosy Eradication Programme is a centrally sponsored Health Scheme of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt, of India. In association with St. John’s Hospital, Pirappancode, Chethana strives to attain a Leprosy Free Status for the People in the Kollam District of Kerala.

Among the leprosy patients in Alappuzha and Kollam districts, Chethana has shortlisted 16 patients in Kollam, Puthoor and Kadampanadu regions. Chethana provides 10 kg of rice, 2 kg oil, 2 kg cereals, 2 kg sugar and required medicines. Chethana facilitates skin camps, reconstructive surgery, SSOD treatments for the identified patients and new case detection camps.
